Limited Energy

A two panel, full color comic. In the first panel, Emily sits slouched over on the couch, wiping her forehead of sweat. She looks exhausted as she says "whew, vacuumed and mopped the floors, cleaned out the fridge, took trash out, washed dishes...I think that's all the chores done. No idea where that burst of energy came from..." In the second panel, Em enters from the left side of the panel, adding in, "Procrastinating comic ideas this week, huh?" Emily shrinks sheepishly, with a little "noyro~n" sound effect coming from her, as she says "well..." and trails off.

A Change In Priorities

A three panel, full color comic. Above the first panel is text that reads "What does success mean to you?" The first panel is labeled as 2014. In it, a long haired, younger Emily stands next to a drafting table, with her arms crossed, looking worried. She says "Augh geez, I dunno...Prolly getting a job at a studio and moving to California...even though I don't really wanna move out there...and uh, as a generalist I can't seem to get hired." The second panel is labeled as 2024. In it, an older, short haired Emily sits on a couch, looking determined as she says "Look. Have you ever just, like--" In the third panel, we zoom in on her face as she closes her eyes and gives a cat like smile, wiping tears from her eyes with joy. She finishes her sentence with "--made a REALLY good sandwich."

Getting published? Snore. Adding a new credit to your resume? Booooring. Getting the good bread from the deli today to make a killer lunch? Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about. 🍞

Break Free

A three panel, full color comic. In the first panel, Emily sits on the couch, her laptop in her lap, on a work meeting. From the laptop, someone asks, "Hey Emily, did you ever get your car unfrozen from the street?" In the second panel, we smash cut to Emily, outside and bundled up against the elements, wide eyed and wild, panting and holding a hammer next to a bunch of broken ice and her car tire. In the third panel, we cut back to Emily on the couch, responding to the question with a blase, "you could say that."

“Hey Dave, that girl is out there smacking at ice with a hammer again. Should we be worried?” 🔨

Silent Night

A full color, three panel comic. In the first panel, Emily sits contentedly curled up in a blanket on the couch, a laptop open on the coffee table in front of her. Eyes closed, she reflects, "Ahh, the last week of work before Christmas. Most everyone is already out, it's bound to be a quiet week." In the second panel, her laptop chimes with an email, to which Emily's eyes (glasses and all) bulge out of her head toward the laptop with severe angry eyebrows. In the third panel, Emily, now in winter garb and outside, hucks her open laptop directly into the river.

Indecision

A five panel, full color comic. In the first panel, Emily sits in her office cubical, leaning back in her chair. She muses, "Hmm, it's been a long day. What to do when I get home tonight..." In the second panel, Emily stands in front of a blue background. "I could do a work out..." she observes, as a tiny version of her in work out gear and a Ring Fit floats to her side. In the third panel, she stands in front of a green background. "Maybe finish up some art," she continues, as another small version of herself floats in the background, crouched down and drawing on an iPad. In the fourth panel, she stands in front of an orange background. "Course, there's always cleaning to do," she sighs, as a small version of her in cleaning gear floats besides her. In the fifth panel, she sits on the couch, home now, wrapped in a blanket and holding a mug of tea. "Orrrrrr nothing," she concludes, "It's hibernating season, after all."
